The Balaton Wings, as the part of the Blue Sky Virtual Fight Club, is a virtual airliner, which similar to its sister groups (Balaton Airlines and Bakony Air Force), simualte real world flights in a simualted area (virtual airspace) with the help of flight simulator softwares. The Balaton Wings (BW) is specialized to perform rescue and aid missions and cargo transports, therefore her fleet contains mainly helicopters and transport airplanes.
The BW now uses Prepar3D and MSFS 2020 simulator programs for its flights.
Short history
On December of 2004 after the Great Indonesian cunami the members of the Blue Sky Virtual Flight Club carried an Aid mission to Phuket island. Several rented cargo planes transported virtually tonns of aid packages to Phuket. These packages were deliver to the local areas with rented transport helicopters.
After the Cunami mission the Blue Sky Virtual Flight Club decided to create a special flight squadron which accomplish the similar missions. The new unit, the Balaton Extreme, was founded on 29.01.2005.
During the years the Balaton Extreme performed 76 missions (such as Kartina hurricane and Haiti earthquake aid missions) with more than 4000 flight hours.
On 11.08.2018 the name of the Airliner changed to Balaton Wings. Our tasks were not changed, only the name and the livery of the fleet. On the new name additonal 22 missions have been performed since 2018.
